\nThe Economic Development Council is pleased to welcome Peter Slavin\, M.D.\, the CEO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center\, as our speaker.

Dr. Slavin brings deep experience in academic medicine and dedication to serving patients and community to his role as President and CEO. Before joining Cedars‑\;Sinai\, he served as president of Massachusetts General Hospital\, which has more than 900 inpatient beds and the largest \;hospital-based research program in the U.S.
\n\nThroughout his career as a physician leader\, professor and administrator\, he has led innovation in clinical care\, research funding\, scientific impact\, workforce development and fundraising. Under his leadership\, Mass General earned the American Hospital Association&rsquo\;s inaugural Equity of Care Award in 2014.
\n\nDr. Slavin has been an influential voice for hospitals on the national stage\, chairing the board of the Association of American Medical Colleges and becoming an elected member of \;the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts &\; Sciences.
\n\nDr. Slavin graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in biochemical sciences and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
