Nazarian\, PsyD was elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in June 2022 and is currently the first Iranian American Woman to serve as Mayor of Beverly Hills (2025-2026).\n\nMayor Nazarian has spent most of her life as a Beverly Hills resident with strong community ties and is dedicated to public safety\, transparency\, supporting the business community and promoting UNITY across Beverly Hills and beyond. An accomplished community leader and philanthropic advocate\, she has dedicated her career to public service and giving back to the community that she loves and has presented her with so many opportunities.\n\nDuring her Mayoral Installation in April 2025\, she unveiled revolutionary public safety initiatives including 'BHPD LIVE LINK' which provides live updates during an emergency. She also debuted 'BH FIRE WATCH' which allows firefighters to better track current conditions through proactive monitoring and use of enhanced technology.\n\nMayor Nazarian has always been an outspoken advocate for ensuring crime does not go unpunished and plans to work closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney\, Nathan Hochman on future initiatives and partnership opportunities. She will continue to support efficiency\, transparency and accountability regarding City procedures and its budgeting process as well as business innovation within the community. Through a partnership with the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce\, her initiative 'SPOTLIGHT WITH SHARONA' will highlight businesses in the City's southeast corridor. Additionally\, she will recognize businesses at City Council meetings each month and engage with both older and younger generations. Her initiative 'SHARONA'S INNOVATION CIRCLE' will consist of 18 25-year-olds interested in exploring brand partnerships and future-proofing the City with exciting programming while her 'SUNDAY SOCIALS WITH SHARONA' will promote government participation from active senior adults.\n\n\n\nMayor Nazarian holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology from USC. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Multicultural Psychology from Alliant University. She lives in Beverly Hills with her husband Daniel\, former Chairperson of the City's Health and Safety Commission\, and is the proud mother of three sons.
