The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and The California Small Business Development Center(SBDC) proudly announce a special Holiday Preparedness Seminar for the business community on November 16th at the Chamber's Office. The in-person workshop will be conducted by Sergeant Jeffery Newman of the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) and is specifically designed to provide safety training for Beverly Hills companies during the holiday season. Attendees will also learn about the latest technological enhancements installed by BHPD to serve and protect the Beverly Hills community. About The Speaker
Sergeant Jeffrey Newman earned his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Norwich University in 2008 before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2008-2012, with notable deployments including the Middle East and with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. After transitioning to the Marine Corps Reserves in 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Major in 2019. Also, in 2012, Sgt. Newman joined the Beverly Hills Police Department, undertaking multiple roles such as Field Training Officer, Taser Instructor, and more. While at BHPD, he obtained a Master's in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in 2017. He also received awards like the Life Saving Medal in 2016 and 2022, along Chief's Core Values Award in 2017. By 2021, Sgt. Newman was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and held the position of Patrol Supervisor and now the Community Relations Sergeant.
