CHRIS WHATLEY, Executive Director of UNAUSA, will welcome the members and guests to UN’s 70-years of humanitarian accomplishments.
 
WOODROW W. CLARK, II, PhD., UNA Beverly Hills Board Chair, a co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize for his work as a co-author and co-editor of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Third Report and first Research Director for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change address the effects of climate change on the human population
 
SEBASTIAN ZACHARIA, former UN Ambassador & Vice Chair of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council will address the role of the UN in the 21st century.
 
DR. PEYMAN RAOOFI, President of Child Foundation will give a brief summary of what is currently being done for refugee children worldwide.
 
MARA VAN LOGGERENBERG, Senior Policy Manager for the United Nations Foundation will speak of her work in the politics and negotiation process in the Sustainable Development agenda.  As Senior Policy Manager at the United Nations Foundation in New York, Mara’s work has focused on the politics and negotiation process of the Sustainable Development agenda for the past four years. Mara also advises on diverse international policy issues at the Foundation, including UN reform and US-UN relations.  Prior to joining UNF, Mara worked at the OECD in Paris, France, at the WFM-Institute for Global Policy in New York, and at Columbia University's Initiative for Policy Dialogue in New York conducting research on financing for development. Mara graduated from Duke University with magna cum laude honors in 2009, and studied international relations and diplomacy at the American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy in Paris, France in 2010. She also speaks French.
